The Phoenix College Theatre and Film program is one of the oldest and most respected theatre programs in Arizona, preparing students in all aspects of theatre, from acting to theatre technology including set construction, lighting and prop design, stage setup, and stage management. Students become an integral part of every aspect of production work.
The program enables you to work on college and professional productions immediately, and to intern with a professional company in your final semester. Many program classes also satisfy the Associate of Fine Arts requirements.
Skills and knowledge gained from the successful completion of this program include the ability to:
- Analyze and execute the steps involved in the design process of technical theatre productions
- Outline and apply the basic theories and methods of stage lighting for all production types
- Use technical production techniques in productions under the direct supervision of technical theatre faculty and staff
- Analyze and execute the basic theories and skills in scenic artistry, including the techniques of painting 2D and 3D scenery
