Join President Solley in a Celebration of Alumni

December 07, 2012

As this year races to an end, I want to take time from the bustle of exams, excitement of academic achievements and celebration of the holidays to express my heartfelt gratitude to the many outstanding alumni of Phoenix College and to invite you to the Alumni Fiesta, 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14. Tapas, tamales and flamenco dancing will make this year’s party especially festive.

This annual gathering is when we acknowledge how truly blessed we are to have a wealth of generous donors who give of their time, talents and funds. The dedication and diversity of our alumni energizes students, staff and faculty, and keeps the spirit of the college shining brightly.

I am thankful for those of you who keep the memories of being a Bear close to your hearts. It is such a joy to see you out attending campus theatre productions, art shows, music performances, athletics and many of our festivals and events. Bringing friends and family to our concerts and sharing your knowledge of Phoenix College with your neighbors is one of the most effective ways we can communicate all that is great about our college.

Sharing your business resources is another way in which you enrich our reputation. Whether it is through internships, corporate contributions or experts who instruct our students, the role models you provide our students and leadership you offer toward teaming up with the community are wellsprings of great happenings.

For future generations, your financial gifts are the engines that keep students on their tracks of success academically and throughout life. Fostering those on the path to higher education has been the mission of this college for more than 92 years. It would not be possible without the support of our alumni who shine like beacons with the pride of Blue and Gold!

I look forward to celebrating with you at the Alumni Open House Fiesta and for achieving great things next year. Mark your calendar for Jan. 24 when we will unveil our interactive Donor Wall in Hannelly Center.

With warm regards,
Dr. Anna Solley
Phoenix College President
