Those Who Serve Honored at November Salute

The RCI at Phoenix College partnered with Salt River Project and Latino Perspectives Magazine to present the fifth annual Those Who Serve recognition luncheon Nov. 29, 2012 at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Phoenix. Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton spoke at the gathering that paid tribute to 10 brave men and women who serve our country and communities. Those honored include:

  • Captain Patrick Camunez, Arizona National Guard
  • Edward Munoz, San Luis Police Department
  • Daniel Rincon, Scottsdale Police Department
  • Diana Tapia-Williams, Mesa Police Department
  • Tom Ryff, Tempe Police Department
  • Monica Abril Aragon, Arizona Air National Guard
  • Daniel V. Garcia, Phoenix Police Department
  • Jimmy Chavez, Arizona Department of Public Safety
  • Roberto Villasenor, Tucson Police Department

The celebration featured highlights of the specialized Medics to Paramedics training program developed by the Phoenix College’s Emergency Medical Technology/Fire Science program, which trains military veteran students to become civilian paramedics.
