Bill Mitchell Mathematics Scholarship
The Bill Mitchell Math Scholarship is awarded to Phoenix College students for outstanding achievement in mathematics at the calculus level and above. The scholarship is awarded at the end of spring semester in the amount of $300.
Who can apply?
Students who have:
o Successfully completed at least 9 math credits at Phoenix College
o At least 3 of the math credits must have been completed in Fall ’13 or Spring ‘14
o At least 3 of the math credits must be Calculus II (MAT230) or higher.
Each student may receive this award at most once.
o A completed application form.
o A personal statement addressing the stated questions.
o An unofficial copy of your transcripts.
o Instructor Recommendation Form (to be given to instructor)
Submit the application to the Math Department Office (A 230) at Phoenix College by Friday March 21, 2014 by 3pm.
The Review Process
The Math Scholarship Committee will verify the information on the applications and
select the single best candidate.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
