Phoenix College 2014 Student Art Exhibit
Entries accepted April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Exhibit dates: April 14th -  May 1st

ELIGIBILITY
Open to current Phoenix College students. Work entered must have been completed within the current academic school year.  Students with bachelor degrees or above in the visual arts are ineligible for the Vanguard Award.  Work must not have been exhibited in the Eric Fischl Gallery before.

No Entry Fee
A maximum of (3) three entries per artist may be submitted. 

CATEGORIES
Two-Dimensional Media
Drawing, Life Drawing, Painting, Watercolor, Illustration, 2-D Design, Graphic Design, and Color & Design. Note:  Work must be matted, framed, or ready to hang. (Canvas board or stretched canvas needs only to be ready to hang).
NOTE: Paintings that are still WET/NOT COMPLETELY DRY will not be accepted.
NOTE: Work that is not ready to hang will not be judged. "Ready to hang" means a sturdy frame with a secure hanging wire or hanging tab on back of frame.

Three-Dimensional Media
Ceramic, Sculpture, and Mixed-Media.

Photography
Black and White, Digital, Color, Hand-painted, Alternative and/or Manipulated Photographic Images.
Note:  Work must be matted, framed, and ready to hang.

Eric Fischl and guest Steve Martin will award (2) $2500 dollar Vanguard Awards.
To be eligible for this award, you must fill out the short Fischl Vanguard Award form in addition to the entry forms.  First, second & third place will receive a ribbon in each category awarded by local jurors.

PROCEDURE
Pick up entry forms at art office. Fill out one for each entry. (Maximum 3 entries per student.) Attach the white copy to the back of the art work, the yellow copy to the Phoenix College Art Gallery, and the pink copy is for the Student.

MAKE SURE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION IS LEGIBLE, and that YOU HAVE A VALID PHONE NUMBER where you can be reached during the day

Bring art work-in on the days and time specified on the calendar below, fill out or bring in your entry form.

Calendar

Tuesday, April 1st: Receiving Entries, Noon – 7 pm   

Wednesday, April 2nd: Receiving Entries, Noon – 7 pm

Thursday, April 3rd: Receiving Entries, Noon – 7 pm   

Artwork will be received in the Eric Fischl Art Gallery, ART 231.

April 14th–May 1st Exhibition on Display to the General Public in the Eric Fischl Gallery

Monday, April 14th                Opening Reception             5:30 - 7PM

Claim artwork not juried into the show between April 10th and 11th, 11am to 3pm or by appointment in the Eric Fischl Art Gallery, ART 231.

Claim artwork juried into the show by on May 5th and 6th, from 11am to 3pm, or by appointment through May 8th.

Work not claimed by May 8th will be disposed of at the end of the semester, May 12th.

Liability
The Art Gallery will exercise care in the handling of all entries, but as Phoenix College carries no insurance coverage for exhibits, it cannot assume liability for loss, theft, or damage while works are in its possession. If you want insurance, you must make your own arrangements for it. 

The jurying, installation, and publicity are the responsibility of the Art Department of Phoenix College.
