16th Annual President’s Invitational Celebrity Golf Tournament happens June 6th
To be held at Phoenician Golf Club for first time; proceeds go to PC Athletic Scholarships
Phoenix, Arizona – April 30, 2014 -- Phoenix College is proud to announce that the 16th Annual Phoenix College President’s Invitational Celebrity Golf Tournament will be held on Friday afternoon, June 6th. For the first time this year, the event will be held at the gorgeous Phoenician Golf Resort in Scottsdale. Proceeds from the event will go toward PC Athletics’ scholarships.
The 16th Annual President’s Invitational Celebrity Golf Tournament gives golfers the chance to play a full 18 holes at one of the most breathtaking courses in the Phoenix area, the Phoenician Golf Resort, which has been ranked among the “Top 75 Golf Resorts in American” by Golf Digest. It’s an 1PM shotgun start, and for their $125 donation, golfers get greens fees and cart, plus chances to win prizes for ‘longest drive’ and ‘closest to the pin’. Following the round, golfers will then be treated to great post-round dinner provided by Relish Burger Bistro at the Phoenician, and will have the chance to win several coveted raffle prizes as well as bid on items at a silent auction. They’ll also get a chance to meet and mingle with Bears’ coaches, staff and administrators; as well as several sports celebrities, including former NFL stars such as current Bears’ Head Football Coach (and former Arizona Cardinal, Baltimore Raven and Miami Dolphin) Jerome Daniels; fellow Bears’ coaches and former Arizona Cardinals’ Frank Sanders and Bernard Wilson and former New England Patriot Prentice McCray; plus former Dallas Cowboy Derek Kennard and former Cleveland Brown Steve Holden; as well as former NBA stars such as the Phoenix Suns’ Frank Johnson and Eddie Johnson. There’s also discounts offered for those who sign up as a foursome. Plus, there are several levels of corporate sponsorship for the tournament, which not only includes having your business name prominently displayed with banner and tee signs, but also offers corporate sponsors the chance to not just meet but also play 18 holes with one of the celebrities.
All of the money raised for the President’s Invitational Celebrity Golf Tournament goes towards scholarships to improve the academic success of PC’s 250+ student-athletes annually, and given them the chance to become more successful-on and off the playing surface.
