The Success Center is now The Learning Commons

June 05, 2014

The Success Center has a new name and location! The service, now known as The Learning Commons, is where students can find support such as tutoring, help with homework, and study skills development.

Formerly found in the B Building, The Learning Commons is now conveniently located in the Lower Level of the Fannin Library. Its new location also means that students looking for help have easy access to multiple computers in the Library to assist with their studies.

What other services does The Learning Commons provide?

  • Free tutoring in academic subjects – No appointment needed if you are looking for help in math, science, English, ESL, and reading.
  • Writing assistance – Bring your printed work to your tutoring session and receive help with sentence structure, thesis statements, and more to help you to improve your skills.
  • ESL Conversation Circles – Join an informal gathering to practice your English listening and speaking skills. The group meets Tuesday through Thursday between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. There is a $7.00 fee per semester.
  • Reference materials – Over 200 books and 30 software titles are available for on-site checkout.  There are also 50 models and study aids to assist with your studies.
