Learning Commons (formerly the Success Center)

Resources

Overview

The Learning Commons offers a wide variety of resources available for students to use while in the center. Please use the links below to discover how we can help you in a variety of subject areas.

Conditions of Use

  • Students must have a current Phoenix College identification card (Cub Card) in order to check out resources. ID cards will be kept at the front desk until the resource is returned.
  • Resources must remain in the Success Center and be returned to the front desk before close of business on the same day they are checked out.
  • Resources must be returned in the same condition as when they were checked out.
  • Internet privileges are for educational use only. Gaming, email, or Internet surfing are prohibited.
  • Any loss of or damage to a resource or its parts is the responsibility of the student to whom the resource is checked out. Your PC account will be charged for the cost of repair or replacement.
  • Students who fail to comply with these conditions may be denied use of some or all resources.

There are a number of links posted to these resource pages that describe the resources at the Learning Commons. Most of them are in PDF format. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you will need to download this program to view these items.

Biology Resources

The Learning Commons has a variety of services to enhance the learning and understanding of biology students, including those taking anatomy & physiology classes.

Tutoring

The Learning Commons offers more than 40 hours of drop-in, biology tutoring. (See Tutoring Schedule)

Phoenix College Biosciences Department
Department faculty and staff are committed to providing relevant and current biology instruction in an accessible and respectful atmosphere.

Biology Boot Camp

A brief tutorial developed by the Counseling Department at Phoenix College that discusses the different challenges students with face taking a science class.  Presented in a multimedia, online format, modules include tips on note-taking, time management, maximizing memory, and test taking.
