Closing Guidelines

  • Closing procedures begin 30 minutes before the stated closing time; that is, if the library closes at 10:00, the closing procedures begin at 9:30.
  • The front doors will be locked at closing time and alarms will be set.
  • Anyone entering the building during this period of time should be able to notice that closing procedures are underway and staff may alert library users that the library is closing
  • Because clocks may vary throughout the building, the clock behind the Circulation Desk is designated as the "Official" clock unless malfunctioning.
  • Financial services at the Circulation/Reserves Desk will conclude 10 minutes prior to the stated time of the library closing. 
  • Computer usage, including printing, must be completed 5 minutes prior to the stated closing time of the library.
  • Campus Public Safety is responsible for closing the library building at the designated closing time.
  • Hours may vary during holidays, intercessions and summer semester.
