Clouds to the Core (C2C) Research Program

APPLICATION DEADLINE
Mon, Feb. 6, 2023

Don't miss the chance to participate in the prestigious Clouds to the Core Research Program, at the University of Arizona.

Learn more below, and be sure to check the official Clouds to the Core site for details.

Summer 2023: The Program

Clouds to the Core, also known as C2C, is an 8-week paid research program for undergraduates who are pursuing careers in the geosciences.    Accepted students are granted stipends, an in many cases, receive assistance with housing and travel costs.

It's an excellent opportunity to explore career possibilities, and the possibility of transferring to 4-year programs at U of A, where many of your PC credits will contribute to your baccalaureate (BA/BS) degree.

Participants will be based at the University of Arizona, in Tucson, for eight weeks,
from
June 12 to August 5:
WEEKS  1 - 2   |   Orientation & Introduction

Learn about opportunities in the geosciences, and become familiar with the University of Arizona campus and its facilities. You will also get to know the other students in your program.

WEEKS  3 - 7   |   Research & Learning

Work with your faculty mentor and their students in the lab on your assigned project. You'll attend dinners, activities, and discussions on career pathways, including transfer to U of A for a 4-year degree.

WEEK  8          |   Final Project:  Preparation and Presentation

Work up your results for a public presentation to your peers, lab mates and folks in the Department of Geosciences. Friends and family are welcome to attend!

Eligibility

Phoenix College students who are at least 18 years of age, and enrolled for Spring 2023 at the following are invited to apply.  Students from other institutions that primarily offer 2-year programs, as well as tribal colleges, are also eligible.

Clouds to the Core is among many REUs (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) sponsored by the federally funded National Science Foundation (NSF).  As such, students must be either U.S. citizens, or permanent residents.
