To meet this demand, Maricopa Community Colleges has introduced a new scholarship, made possible by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), which are now available to Phoenix College students pursuing or interested in completing a program related to behavioral health, counseling, and psychology. This scholarship covers tuition, textbooks, course fees, health and safety requirements, and other necessary resources for students pursuing a career in direct care and behavioral health.

- NEW Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Foundations of Behavioral Sciences (See information session below)
- Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Adolescent Studies
- Associate in Arts (AA), Emphasis in Psychology
- Associate in Arts (AA), Emphasis in Counseling and Applied Psychological Science

Learn how you can earn this certificate with a full scholarship! That's right - nothing (or little) out of pocket to gain valuable education and skills in a growing career field! A behavioral health technician carries out a wide range of responsibilities involving direct patient care. Technicians may assist with administrative-related duties, such as admitting and discharging patients. In addition, they help patients with the activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing and dressing. Other duties behavioral health technicians may perform include:
- Monitor and record patient vital signs
- Observe and document patient behaviors
- Actively listen to patients share their concerns and communicate with medical personnel about those issues
- Implement patient treatment plans which includes the responsible administration of medications.
