The Maricopa County Community College District Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) is a 35-38 semester-credit general education certificate that fulfills lower-division general education requirements for students planning to transfer to any Arizona public community college or university. Phoenix College offers three types of AGEC certificates, and one, AGEC-A, entirely online. Designed to articulate with different academic majors, their requirements vary accordingly.
- AGEC-A (online or f2f) is for the largest group of majors and is recommended for students who have not selected a specific major. The AGEC A is designed to satisfy requirements in many liberal arts majors as well as other majors that articulate with the Associate in Arts.
- Note: AGEC-B & AGEC-S are offered face-to-face (f2f) only at this time. See Transfer Services for more information or speak with an academic advisor.
Your academic advisor can help you decide if AGEC works for your major and will help you to build an academic plan, choose appropriate courses to fulfill the AGEC requirements, and answer questions you may have about AGEC. Visit an Academic Advisor in the Hannelly Enrollment Center, or contact an advisor by phone (602) 285-7110, by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or use eChat. Note: Advisement is highly recommended for all students.
