FAQ - Reading

I already know how to read; why do I have to take CRE101?

CRE101 is not a skill-building reading course. CRE101 is a course where students refine their ability to analyze and interpret various types of writing, including essays, news articles, and college textbooks.. The ability to effectively and efficiently analyze writing are skills that all college students must possess. Why? As an institution of higher education, Phoenix College makes the commitment to its district, community, and business leaders that graduates of Phoenix College meet high academic standards.

Employers require employees who can think, read, and write critically. CRE101 is a course that helps students develop these particular academic skills.
