shaped life on Earth

The Discussion

Living things range from single cells, such as bacteria and protists, to collections of cells that form the plants and animals we encounter daily.  Science is determining that many cellular structures evolved from combinations of cells.  They developed when one cell entered another.  It's a phenomenon more common than you may realize!

Hear from Dr. John McCutcheon, associate director of the ASU Biodesign Institute, and professor at the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University.  He'll describe how our humans, and many other organisms have evolved from this process.

Who Should Join

Students and Faculty are welcome to join.  An ASU internship opportunity will be discussed, and you'll have a chance to explore student posters related to the lecture.
