Dental Day for Veterans

AZ Central covered the AZ MOM Dental Day for Vets at Phoenix College on March 7, 2020.

Approximately 200 veterans -many of them homeless- were treated by volunteer Phoenix College dental hygiene and dental assisting students and professors. Services such as fillings, extractions, cleanings and even immediate dentures were provided to prescreened veteran patients of all ages. This was made possible by a partnership between Central Arizona Dental Society Foundation (CADSF) through its AZ MOM events (AZ Mission of Mercy) in conjunction with Phoenix College's Dental Hygiene Clinic. The event focused on relieving pain and infection for those unable to afford healthcare.

"I'll be able to eat right," said one veteran. "I'll be able to eat right, the way you're supposed to."
