Study Abroad Guanajuato

¡Vamos a México! Guanajuato Study Abroad Program June 5 - June 26, 2026

Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and history of Mexico with our exciting summer study abroad program in Guanajuato, a UNESCO World Heritage city renowned for its colonial architecture, colorful atmosphere, and artistic energy. The program begins in Mexico City, where students will explore the iconic Teotihuacan ruins, the National Museum of Anthropology, the National Cathedral, and Garibaldi Plaza—the lively center of mariachi music. From there, students will travel to Guanajuato and stay with local host families, offering an unparalleled cultural immersion experience. This three-week program offers students the opportunity to earn 7 college credits by enrolling in SPA 201 (Spanish Language) and MHL 159 (History of Mexican Music)—courses that fulfill AGEC general education designations for Global Awareness (G) and Historical Awareness (H). The curriculum is designed to deepen students’ understanding of the Spanish language and Mexico’s rich musical heritage while providing daily opportunities to engage with local culture both inside and outside the classroom. Whether you’re a language learner, music enthusiast, or curious traveler, this program will broaden your global perspective, enhance your intercultural competence, and prepare you for success in today’s interconnected world.
