Art - Studio

A wide range of courses are available in the area of Studio Arts. Courses include two-dimensional design, three-dimensional design, color, drawing, life drawing, sculpture, welding, ceramics, painting, watercolor painting, photography, lost wax casting, and printmaking.

Within the studio arts area, exciting new courses, like Glass fusing and Slumping, and The Art of Finding are always being added.

Studio courses are taught by professional artists that exhibit on a regular basis and hold Masters level degrees in art.


Eric Fischl Scholars Program

There are several scholarships available to students that wish to study Studio Arts. The Eric Fischl Scholars Program sponsors four high school seniors with full tuition and supplies for two years of study at Phoenix College. The Eric Fischl Merit Award is a $2500 award for students continuing their studies at Phoenix College, the prestigious Eric Fischl Vanguard award is presented yearly as an award for talent, and the Luis Baiz Scholarship is awarded to a student with an interest in ceramics.


Associate in Arts

The Associate in Arts, Fine Arts degree (AAFA) is available as a program of study for students with an interest in Studio Arts. It is designed for students planning to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. The program is designed to meet selective admission criteria for programs such as Bachelor of Fine Arts.
