Award-winning educator highlights the exceptional faculty and unique student opportunities at Phoenix College Preparatory Academy — a high school on the campus of Phoenix College.

Olina Fong, student at both Phoenix College Preparatory Academy and Phoenix College, was selected for the 2025-26 All-Arizona Academic Team.

Phoenix College (PC) has received a $25,000 grant from BHHS Legacy Foundation to support the Bumstead Resource Room, a campus initiative dedicated to combating food insecurity among college students.

Jesse Lopez Martin and Jennifer Alvarado, two students at Phoenix College, were named two of 90 high-achieving community college students selected to receive the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. The highly competitive national scholarship aims for Cooke Scholars to complete their undergraduate educations with as little debt as possible. The award, which is last dollar funding after all institutional aid, can provide Jesse and Jennifer with as much as $55,000 a year each to complete a bachelor’s degree.

“Chalk it Up” celebrated Phoenix College’s recent designation as one of the Most Promising Places to Work, from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD). The event also marked National Picnic Day, with the college offering free snacks, drinks, and hot dogs fresh off the grill to students, creating a moment of joy and connection on campus.

Phoenix College was recently named a Voter Friendly Campus by NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and the Campus Vote Project. This initiative recognizes institutions that have planned and implemented practices that encourage their students to register and vote.

Today, Phoenix College (PC) is proud to join the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation (MCCF) and Maricopa Community Colleges in launching EmpowerED for Student Success, a three-year, $20 million fundraising campaign aimed at increasing financial support and removing barriers to help students attain a college degree and strengthen the state’s workforce.

Phoenix College is one of 471 colleges and universities recognized for outstanding efforts to increase nonpartisan student voter participation in the 2024 election and was recognized by the All IN Campus Democracy Challenge as a 2024 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting.
