Phoenix College Receives $25,000 Grant from BHHS Legacy Foundation to Fight Student Food Insecurity
Phoenix College (PC) has received a $25,000 grant from BHHS Legacy Foundation to support the Bumstead Resource Room, a campus initiative dedicated to combating food insecurity among college students.

Two PC Students Awarded National Community College Transfer Scholarship
Jesse Lopez Martin and Jennifer Alvarado, two students at Phoenix College, were named two of 90 high-achieving community college students selected to receive the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. The highly competitive national scholarship aims for Cooke Scholars to complete their undergraduate educations with as little debt as possible. The award, which is last dollar funding after all institutional aid, can provide Jesse and Jennifer with as much as $55,000 a year each to complete a bachelor’s degree.

PC Builds Campus Community with Chalk It Up Event
“Chalk it Up” celebrated Phoenix College’s recent designation as one of the Most Promising Places to Work, from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD). The event also marked National Picnic Day, with the college offering free snacks, drinks, and hot dogs fresh off the grill to students, creating a moment of joy and connection on campus.
