Faculty Guidelines & Information

Welcome to Testing Services!

We are excited to support your proctoring needs and those of your students, and we hope you find the following information valuable. This service is offered to any student who misses a regular scheduled exam and/or has accommodations authorized by Disability Resources and Services. Due to limited resources, we are unable to provide full-class testing.

Essential Information for your Students

  • Appointments are required for all faculty exams. Please direct your students to Testing Services to request an appointment or obtain additional information.
  • Testing Services will send an appointment confirmation to your student's official MCCCD Email Account. Students should allow at least 1 business day for their request to be processed. Requests received outside business hours will be processed before 5 pm on the following business day.
  • Upon check-in, students must present a current, valid photo ID & a printed or digital copy of their appointment confirmation

Essential Information for Faculty

Testing Services uses the Testing Center (TC) Application to support secure and consistent exam administration. The TC Application is used to submit exam directions, upload exams, make updates, and track student testing activity.

How to Submit Exam Directions
  1. Visit the TC Application
  2. Log in using your MEID and password
  3. Select Create New Exam for Class, or choose a course from My Classes.
  4. Complete all required fields across the following tabs: Base Exam Details, Class Exam Details, Examinees, and Submit Exam.
  5. Edit and Print options are available in the vertical three-dot menu on the right side of the exam row.
Exam Status Selection

Faculty must select one of the following exam statuses:

  • Draft – The exam is in progress and not yet available to Testing Services.
  • Submitted – The exam is complete and ready for Testing Services to administer.
  • Cancelled – The exam is no longer available for testing.

To save or submit an exam, faculty must agree to the Exam Terms and check the box.

Select Save to store the exam information. If required fields are missing, the system will display an error message identifying the items that need to be completed.

Notes and Exam Updates
  • Faculty may add notes to both the exam and the student intake at any time.
  • Each note is automatically labeled with the user’s name, date, and time.

How do I deliver my exam(s) to Testing Services?

Online Exams
  • If the exam is delivered entirely online, no additional action is required.
Paper-and-Pencil Exams
  • Faculty may upload a PDF version of the exam through the TC   Application.
  • Testing Services will print up to three (3) copies per exam.
  • If more than three copies are required, faculty are responsible for providing the additional copies.

Retrieve your exam(s)

  • Upon completion, Testing Services will securely store your exam(s); you may pick them up at your convenience.
  • Please bring a photo ID to pick up your exams.
  • You may designate another Phoenix College employee to pick up your exams. Please note this in your exam directions if desired.
  • TS is happy to return exams via intercampus mail. Please note this in your exam directions if desired.

 Other Information

  • Due to space & staff limitations, TS is unable to collect homework or other classroom assignments/materials.

ADA Accommodations

  • Any student who is registered with the Disability Resources & Services Office and has received authorization for an ADA exam accommodation that includes a reader/scribe or specialized equipment should make their arrangements with DRS.
  • Any student whose ADA exam accommodations are limited to additional time and/or a reduced-distraction room must include that information in their request for an appointment.
